Centre Development and Operation

proton_procureHTI works with ProCure Treatment Centers to identify international proton therapy projects which will meet the needs of the regional cancer patients by providing the highest quality clinical service in an economically feasible manner. HTI works with local oncology providers to define the best organizational structure for the centre’s development and a business model which ensures local support, adequate reimbursement, and appropriate clinical pathways. HTI’s objective is to define a proton therapy service which meets the clinical mission of all parties and yields a financially viable and sustainable project.

HTI is working with ProCure in the UK market to define how best to work with the Department of Health, National Commissioning Group, and selected NHS Trusts for the development of a network of proton therapy centres.

HTI is looking to identify other international partners to improve patient access to proton therapy. The essentials for a viable project include:

  • A high quality comprehensive oncology service partner
  • A population base suitable to provide sufficient proton therapy patients
  • Approved proton therapy clinical indications
  • A reimbursement mechanism for proton therapy
